California LifeLine Telephone Program (also known as “LifeLine” or Universal LifeLine Telephone Service, “ULTS”) provides discounted basic telephone (landline) services to eligible California households. California LifeLine is provided by the local telephone companies, such as SureWest, and sponsored by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
