Traditional Phone - N11 Numbers

N11 numbers are abbreviated dialing telephone numbers within the North American Numbering Plan, which allow easy access to special services. Below is a list of N11 numbers available to SureWest Telephone customers and a description of the services.

211 - Health and Human Services: Sacramento County customers can get information about Sacramento County community, health, and social services. 211 services are free, available in multiple languages, and accessible to the hearing impaired. A live information specialist is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

311 - Sacramento non-emergency police and other government services. The service is operated by the City of Sacramento and is free to SureWest customers, available in multiple languages, and accessible to the hearing impaired.

411 - Local Directory Assistance (LDA): connects callers to an operator where a search for local phone numbers and addresses can be obtained.

511 - Travel Guide: find out about the latest traffic conditions, transit information, and traffic and transportation news Toll-free.

611 - Telephone Problem Reporting: Customers may dial 611 to report a problem with SureWest telephone landlines and will be connected to the customer service department.

711 - Telecommunications Relay Service: Translates from TDD (Telecommunications device for the deaf) to speech. The relay service allows hearing-impaired people to converse with the hearing over the phone through an operator.

811 - Call Before You Dig: A Toll-free, federally mandated number created to help protect people from unintentionally hitting underground utility lines while working on digging projects. Operators will make arrangements to send out a utility professional to the dig site to mark utility lines within a few days of the call. Please call at least two days prior to digging.

911 - Emergency Telephone Number: allows a caller to contact local emergency services for assistance. The core emergency services are Fire Service, Police and Emergency Medical Service. Dial 9-1-1 in case of an emergency.
