Kaspersky Internet Security 2013

As a value-add feature to SureWest Internet service, we are providing the Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 software to all residential SureWest Internet customers! This is the FULL version of the Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 software.

Note:

Before installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 software, click HERE to confirm that your equipment meets the minimum system requirements.

  • 480 MB free space on the hard disk
  • Internet connection (to activate the product)
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or above (to update anti-virus databases and application modules on the Internet)
  • Microsoft Windows Installer 2.0 or above

Note:

Not available for Mac OS.

  • Intel Atom 1.6 GHz (Z520) (or compatible)
  • Video adapter Intel GMA950 with at least 64 MB of memory (or compatible)

To display the product’s interface optimally it is recommended to use standard screen resolution not less than 800x600 pixels.

  • Safe Run for Websites, a component of Kaspersky Internet Security 2013, works with Microsoft Windows XP x64, and works with Microsoft Windows Vista x64 and Microsoft Windows 7 x64.

Personal Subscription Password

Your personal subscription password is your SureWest billing account number, which is located on page 1 of your SureWest billing statement (See Figure 1). Your personal subcription password is provided during the initial installation of Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 (See Figure 2). It is also emailed to you at that time of installation (See Figure 3 ).

Remove old anti-virus

IMPORTANT:

  • Before you install Kaspersky Internet Security 2013, you MUST remove your current anti-virus program.
  • We recommend using the anti-virus removal tools listed below. Manual removal, in many cases, does not fully uninstall all program files and may cause conflicts when installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2013.

Anti-virus Removal Tools

If you already know which anti-virus software you are currently using, select the appropriate removal tool below to remove your current anti-virus software.

Windows Vista and 7 Removal Instructions

  1. Open the Control Panel: Start > Control Panel
  2. Select the Uninstall a program link.
  3. Find your current anti-virus program and select it.
  4. Click the Uninstall button at the top of the screen.
  5. Follow the prompts for removing the anti-virus program.

Windows XP Removal Instructions

  1. Open the Control Panel: Start > Settings > Control Panel
  2. Double-click the Add or Remove Programs icon.
  3. Find your current anti-virus program and select it.
  4. Click the Change/Remove button.
  5. Follow the prompts for removing the anti-virus program.

Installation Instructions

IMPORTANT:

  • Before installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2013, you MUST remove your old anti-virus software. Click HERE for instructions on how to remove it.
  • Close all applications that are currently running on your computer.

Follow these instructions to install Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 for the first time:

  1. Log into My Surewest.
  2. In the upper right click on the My Services button.

  1. Click the Kaspersky Internet Security Center link.

  1. Click the Download Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 button to start the download.

Note:

  • Clicking the Download Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 button will generate an e-mail to your inbox that includes Kaspersky Internet Security information including your subscription code.
  • Internet Explorer users will need to right-click the download bar that appears at the top of the screen and select Download File....
  1. You will be asked whether you want to run or save the file. Select Run.

  1. You will be asked whether you want to run this software. Select Run.

Note:

The download process may take a few minutes to complete. Mouse over the install icon in the task manager tray (lower right of your computer screen) to verify the status of the download during installation.

  1. After Download is complete you will be prompted to enter your subscription password. If you have previously installed Kaspersky Internet Security, then proceed to the next step.

Result:

The download manager completes and the Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 installation wizard appears.

  1. Click the Next button.

  1. After reviewing the End User License Agreement, click the I agree button.

  1. Click the Install button

Note:

If you have NOT previously uninstalled your current anti-virus, you will be prompted to do so. If you are using Windows XP, select the Next button and the software will be removed. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, then select the program by clicking on it and then click the Remove button.
Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7 will open to the control panel. Click here for instructions on removing your old anti-virus software. This process will require you to reboot your computer. Upon restart you will be prompted immediately to run the file again. Click Run and proceed to the next step (#11).

Upgrade previous versions of Kaspersky to Kaspersky Internet Security 2013


Follow these instructions to upgrade to Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 from an existing version of Kaspersky Internet Security:

IMPORTANT:

  • The upgrade process can take several minutes to complete.
  • Click HERE for new installation instructions if you are installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 for the first time.
  1. Log into My Surewest.
