Eskaton
Eskaton is northern California’s leading provider of innovative health, housing and social services for seniors since 1968. Eskaton’s service continuum encompasses retirement communities, affordable senior apartment communities, independent living with services, assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation and skilled nursing care, home care services, adult day health care, information and assistance, telephone reassurance and home visitors, and senior care coordination.
Our Mission: Enhance the quality of life of seniors through innovative health, housing and social services.
The independent nonprofit corporation, known as Eskaton, had its beginnings in the 1960s when several members of the Disciples of Christ Church in Oakland formed a charitable organization to provide health care, housing and other services to seniors and families. The new organization’s name, Eskaton, was drawn from the Greek language and interpreted to mean the “beginning of a new age”. Today, Eskaton has its corporate offices in the Sacramento suburb of Carmichael, and, from there, it serves seniors through more than 25 facilities and programs in northern California. Additional settings are under construction or in the planning stages.
